Eternal Brilliance explores the encounter between what endures through time and what lasts only for a moment.
In Paris, monuments, bridges, courtyards and streets carry the memory of successive generations. Their presence appears permanent, while the light that reveals them is, by nature, fleeting. Rising and setting sunlight, reflections on the Seine and the lights of the city continually transform these places without erasing their identity.
The series explores this tension between permanence and renewal: light gives historic places an ever-changing presence, as though their radiance could transcend time.
The twelve photographs form a visual poem that follows Paris from morning into night:
(1) In the morning, the sun shines on the ageless monuments and (2) illuminates the courtyards and alleyways. (3) It presents a floral setting and (4) its corridors are open and offer freedom. (5) The Seine the river sparkles ever young beneath the bridge, (6) flows slowly as the environment glows while (7) the unchanging spirit watches over it. (8) In the evening, the city opens its pathways and (9) its gates of light. (10) Its unbreakable heart ignites, (11) and its lampposts make its iconic places blaze in concord (12) so that its triumph shines brightly in all its glory.
This twelve-image series also served as the portfolio through which I obtained the Qualified European Photographer (QEP) qualification in 2024.
