Energy and Serenity explores the coexistence of two states that may at first seem opposed: drive, determination and movement on the one hand; calm, openness and inner balance on the other.

In the landscape, these two forces naturally appear together. Mountains, forests, textures, upward-reaching lines and colour contrasts suggest energy, while lakes, still water and open spaces invite rest and contemplation.

Rather than opposing them, the series explores their complementarity. As in hiking, effort and relaxation, movement and pause can become part of the same experience of balance.

The five photographs form a short visual poem:

(1) Down the valley, there is repose next to strength; (2) at lake level (2) one rests in tranquility while cold and warm awakes dynamism, (3) a peacefule lake has vibrant rowboats, and (4) calm water reflects vibrant vigor; on top of the mountain (5) there is a lot of pep and it’s quiet.
