France
This picture of the Eiffel was made in February 2021 at the Champ de Mars very early in the morning (f/6.3, 8.0s, iso100). Would you like to walk here hand in hand with your lover?
These days it is not snowing often in Paris. This is a rare and unique image taken at the Champ de Mars early in the morning showing the calmness when there was no one around.
I shot this from the Bir-Hakeim bridge in Paris. I love how the Eiffel tower is framed and the colorful cloud just behind it.
This picture of the Rue de Rivoli is taken next to the Tuileries. The sun sends its rays behind the post on the left and by its reflection on the right. But what do you think, doesn’t it happen one more time when looking at the floor?
This image was made in April 2021 (1/25s, f/8, iso 100) at sunset. I liked how the sun sends its rays behind the post and in the reflection on the right side. And by looking carefully aren’t there also sunrays on the ground?
This is the passage in rue de Rivoli where the sun is shining, twice!
A beautiful view down a stairs in Montmartre towards Paris at sunrise.
Place de la Concorde is located between the Tuileries Garden and the Champs Elysées. It is decorated with statues and fountains and of course the giant Egyptian obelisk in the middle. This image of place de Concorde is taken at sunset. The composition is chosen so that the statue of the fountain « glances over » to the obelisk.
The pink painted restaurant called La Maison Rose harmonizes with the colors of the sunset and contrasts with the green of the plants surrounding it.
This picture was made in July 2020 at the Louvre in Paris at sunset. Right there is a place to sit down to enjoy the view and to eventually listen to somebody playing a classical instrument. And maybe holding the hand of someone?
It’s not easy to take photos at this place since usually it is overcrowded by people. Here I also liked how I could align the pyramids and get the sun behind.
It happens only twice a year that the sun is right over the obelisk when it is aligned with the Arc de Triomphe. What makes this photo also unique is that the Jardin de Tuileries in the foreground is empty.
Rooftop view of the business area of Paris, called La defense. The street and the buildings lead to the Grande Arche which is in the middle.
This is a shot of the Hôtel de Ville in Paris at earl sunrise.
This bridge named after Tsar Alexander III, who had concluded the Franco-Russian Alliance in 1892 connects the grand palais to the Invalides. It was inaugurated in 1900 for the Exposition Universelle and its construction is a marvel of 19th century engineering, consisting of a single span steel arch which is surrounded by four gilt-bronze statues depicting Fames restraining Pegasus. The bridge itself featurs many sculptures and lamps. It was also featured in many movies including James Bond (1985) in which Bond jumps from the bridge onto a boat. In this photo one can fully admire this beautiful bridge together with the Seine River and the Invalides in the background.
The Bir-Hakeim bridge connects the 15th and 16th arrondissement. It has has two levels: the lower one for motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians, the other built above the first one is a railway viaduct through which passes Line 6 of the Paris Métro. It is supported by metal colonnades, except in the middle where it rests on a masonry arch. The bridge has been shown in many movies including Inception in 2010. This image is taken at night. The light trails in the middle are from bicycles who are driving around the camera and of cars on the left and right side.
This image was made in July 2021 in Paris (f/7.1, 1.3s, iso100) right after sunset. The Pont Neuf is the oldest standing bridge across the Seine River in Paris. There is a saying that when lovers cross this bridge it brings them luck when they kiss.
The Pont Neuf is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris, France. Built over 400 years ago it used to be the center of Paris with crime and business up to the 18th century. The philosopher Franklin wrote to his friends in America that he had not understood the Parisian character except in crossing the pont Neuf. Renovated back in 2007 it shines in these beautiful colors now. There is a saying that when a couple crosses the bridge it brings them luck when they kiss. Maybe this also works by looking at the photo?
A boat which has just arrived or is ready to leave ? Electric lights are dancing.

Italie
This picture was made in September 2021 in Venice, Italy at sunrise (f/11, 1/200s, iso100). A boat is driving on the Grand Canale towards the sun. Will it stop at St. Mark’s square? Who is in there? Someone arriving to meet loved ones?
This picture was made in September 2021 in Venice at night (f/4.0, 1/10s, iso2500, handheld). Lovers in a gondola are pleased by their travel through Venice by night while a person is watching them gliding through the landscape. An intimate moment is created when they both look into the camera.
This picture was made in September 2021 in Venice, Italy (f/5.6, 1/30s, iso100) on a Sunday morning. A couple is having breakfast while a boat arrives. What is more romantic in Venice, having breakfast outside or driving through the canals?

Summer Dream
This image was made in Venice in September 2021 at sunrise (1/125, f/11, iso 100). I liked how the sun reflected in the water creating a triangle with the church and the wooden posts.
